Many of you are already in goal setting mode as we get closer to a new year. Your goals can be even more powerful and meaningful when you take time to tap into your inspiration and wake up your confidence with a full year end process.

Here are some steps to take that will help you truly close out one year and begin the next.

The Year in Review:

Listing your wins and accomplishments for the outgoing year is an important step in acknowledging and owning your successes.  Most people who do this process are surprised to see how much they really achieve.  Focusing on your wins for the past year will also support a mindset of possibilities that will assist you in setting better goals for the year to come.

  1. Gather any materials that will help remind you of your wins for the year.  Calendars, journals, photos, or even your Facebook timeline can be helpful.
  2. List your wins.  I recommend a minimum of 50.  Remember – no win is too small.
  3. Take some time to reflect on your year and acknowledge yourself for how you lived it.
  4. Think about what from the past year you would like to bring forward into the year to come.
  5. And then, what you would like to leave in the past.

The Year Ahead – Goal Setting:

Creating a clear and heartfelt plan for the coming year will provide focus and contribute to your success in having another winning year.

  1. If possible, go to a quiet place in nature or a space that feels nurturing to do this process.
  2. Choose a word or phrase to represent what you want to create or how you want to be in the coming year.
  3. Think about each of the areas of your business listed below and write down what you would like to make happen.
  4. List any other things important to you that don’t fit in these categories. There is a separate year end process for the non-business aspects of your life available here
  5. Rewrite your goals/intentions as if they are already happening now.  I am ……
  6. Create action steps for each goal or intention and set target dates for completion.
  7. Plan out and schedule your actions steps to support completing them by your target date.
  8. You may want to consider visual reminders like lists of intentions, mind maps or a vision board.
